Case Western Reserve University through a partnership between the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department and the Great Lakes Institute for Energy Innovation, is proud to announce the first CWRU Game Project Challenge. This is an exciting competition that interests students in both computer science and wind energy (this year's theme)! The season runs from January to May 2009 with a statewide tournament in Cleveland on the Case Western Reserve University campus on Saturday, May 22.
Teams of four to seven high school students have the opportunity to create computer games specifically designed to be fun, challenging and innovative.
By creating a great game, students can:
Win recognition and achievement awards
Have fun developing a fun game for others to play
Learn about this year's theme: wind energy issues
Learn the basics of game development and the underlying computer science
Work with friends and teammates on a fun, creative project
Gauge interest in learning more about game development and computer science
